This moth is the size of a small dinner plate. After 5-7 years in chrysalis, they live for 24-36 hours. They have no digestive tract or mouth. Their soul task is to mate. Notice the snake heads camouflage — giving it more opportunity to hide from predators during its very short lifespan.

Two things are very important to remember about these beautiful little ants. 1. They are NOT ANTS. They are wingless WASPS! And 2; their stinger is VERY PAINFUL as I recently found out.
This is a female. Males have wings and look like wasps.
